Webb13 mars 2024 · In a database management system (DBMS), starvation occurs when a transaction or process is not able to get the resources it needs to proceed and is continuously delayed or blocked. This can happen when other transactions or processes are given priority over the one that is experiencing starvation. WebbThis can happen when multiple process is vying for the same resource and become stuck. There are several ways to avoid starvation, saving resources for high-priority processes so that they don’t go without supplies that they need to finish their work and ensuring low-priority process are completed.
